Family law has always been personal
I grew up around family law. As the daughter of two divorced family law attorneys, I learned early that the way families engage with the legal system can shape their lives long after a case is over.
Those experiences sparked my interest in people, relationships, and interpersonal conflict—and ultimately led me to a career helping families through some of life’s most significant transitions.
From litigation to a different path
I began my career representing clients in high-conflict family litigation. I tried cases, handled contested hearings, and advocated for clients facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
That experience made me a stronger attorney. It also fundamentally changed the way I think about resolving family disputes.
I have seen firsthand how prolonged litigation can affect parents, children, relationships, and the financial security families have worked hard to create. Even a favorable courtroom result can come after years of conflict and leave consequences that extend well beyond the final order.
That is why I shifted my practice toward Collaborative Divorce and other non-litigious approaches whenever they offer a better path.
Thoughtful solutions built around your family
My goal is not simply to resolve a legal dispute. I want to help clients create durable solutions that protect their future and consider the interests of the family as a whole.
Whether I am working on a Collaborative Divorce, cooperative custody matter, modification, or premarital or postmarital agreement, I start by understanding the individual family rather than forcing its circumstances into a predetermined solution.
I strive to create an environment where clients feel heard, informed, and empowered to make decisions based on long-term priorities rather than short-term frustration.
Where psychology and law meet
Before law school, I earned my B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating summa cum laude with highest honors from the Liberal Arts Honors Program and earning induction into Phi Beta Kappa.
I later attended The University of Texas School of Law, where I co-founded the Texas Family Law Society and focused my studies on family law, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
My psychology background remains central to the way I practice. Family transitions are deeply personal, and understanding the people, relationships, and emotions behind a legal issue helps me guide clients with both strategy and empathy.
